Fall Arrest Systems
Monday, March 1, 2010
Working at height is frequently an issue for industries such as modular building and caravan manufacturers. Workers are often required to carry out operations on the roof of the structures they are constructing. Although the heights they are working at are unlikely to trigger an attack of vertigo, a fall from such height could easily lead to serious injury or death.
Because the fall clearance in such situations is limited it is important that a fall is arrested quickly. To achieve this, the anchor point needs to be overhead. HRS Services develop solutions using a combination of inertia reels and safety line and rail systems to provide 'ground up' protection.
Once the fall arrest system is installed HRS Services provide PPE, end user training and can take on board the maintenance and annual re-certification of the systems; please see relevant section for more details on this.
Below is a link to downloadable video footage showing what happened when HRS Services Sales Manager threw himself off the top of a modular building.
