Air Sealing & Fire StoppingInitially working with large supermarket chains to improve customer comfort and reduce heating costs by undertaking remedial air sealing of stores.
HRS Have been involved with the air sealing and fire stopping to over 800 supermarkets.
Using our experience in roped access we are able to undertake air sealing works at high level and for example above suspended ceiling safely and with a minimum of disruption to staff and other contractors.
The experience gained for approaching 15 years enables us to quickly locate potential problem areas and offer solutions where possible that are:
Since the new part L regulations were introduced in 2002 HRS have become more involved with the air sealing of new building and are able to offer a service second to none from initial design reviews and site audits to onsite sealing works and onto the final air integrity test
Whilst the principles of air sealing are straight forward, success comes
from understanding and co-ordinating the air sealing details for the huge
variety of modern materials and systems, which combine to form a modern
building. HRS will probably have delivered airtight envelopes to similar
construction types in the past and are able to install durable, cost-effective
solutions. If not, we will have the understanding and contacts to develop
a practical way forward.
Should a building fail its first air test, HRS has the skills to deliver a solution. HRS has a 100% success rate in reducing air leakage rates, to below that stated in specifications, after failed air tests. Typically, remedial works take five to fifteen days depending on the extent of works required. Similar success has been gained on refurbishment projects or operational buildings, working at night or with phased work to minimise disruption.
