Air Tightness - Related Services
At HRS we strive to offer a comprehensive range of services for compliance to Part L (Air Tightness & Energy) Part E (Acoustic Performance) and Part B (Fire Safety). With over 20 years experience in the provision of these services, our integrated approach has been proven to be the most cost effective and efficient way to achieve compliance with minimum disruption to building programmes.
There are a number of advantages to this approach. These areas are often interdependent and a change to one aspect can necessitate changes to the other, which may not be evident immediately, but will become apparent once construction is complete and testing is carried out.
For example, if passive fire protection is present in a party wall, this can affect the acoustic properties and also the continuity of the air seal line in this wall. If the passive fire protection, air sealing and acoustic insulation are each undertaken by separate contractors this can result in conflicting designs and specification, leading to test failures and costly remedial works.
With our integrated approach we consider how these factors effect each other and provide a bespoke solution to eliminate these problems at the design stage, eradicating conflicting specifications and giving you a more streamlined supply chain improving response times and removing the need to coordinate several sub-contractors.
On projects of all sizes, from hospitals and schools to houses and small industrial units, we find that as changes to the construction detail can effect SAP/SBEM and BREEAM ratings, our involvement as early as possible is key to achieving risk free, first time compliance, allowing our teams to resolve all issues across these areas quickly and efficiently.
HRS can provide accredited SAP, SBEM, BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments, UKAS accredited air tightness testing & consultancy, UKAS accredited acoustic testing and consultancy and FIRAS certified passive fire protection, giving our team unrivalled ability to provide a detailed and effective specification for compliance.
