HRS has the most comprehensive resources for carrying out air tests in the UK, in terms of air testing kit and staff. HRS has a range of fans suitable to test from cladding joints and components up to the largest buildings. These are all operated by site teams who have many years experience of air tightness testing and related works. All HRS air testing works are carried out to UKAS, ATTMA and CIBSE standards, which is a minimum requirement for Part L 2006.

The COMPACT and PORTAfans are portable and easy to set-up in sets of 1-4 and capable of being used in restricted areas. The MIDIfans are large rigs capable of testing whole buildings up to the size of the very largest distribution centres.

All HRS air test rigs come self contained with their door screens, power and materials. Another big plus is that each air test rig has its smoke test equipment, enabling the site team to investigate potential problems there and then. As all HRS air testers have good experience of air sealing, they are particularly adept at finding where buildings have problems which potentially reduces costs due to not having to pre-book and pay for smoke tests that may not be required.

If required, HRS can carry out all the temporary sealing for an air test and HRS air testers hold the necessary competence cards for driving MEWPs and Cherry Pickers.

All fan units can both pressurise and depressurise buildings, helping enormously in locating air leakage paths.

Thermographic surveys whilst a building is depressurised can help identify where air tightness needs improving. HRS can also offer to temporarily seal services and patrol the building during the air test to ensure the test is carried out correctly.
