HRS were asked to carry out SBEM carbon emissions (BRUKL) calculations and Energy Performance Certification for an industrial development comprising 13 units. Analysis of initial design revealed non-compliant floor details. HRS carried out U-value calculations to provide advice on the level of insulation required to meet the specified target. During modelling of the development it was noted that the proposed fit-out specification would not meet the target emissions rate required for Building Regulations L2. HRS provided consultancy to tailor the heating and lighting systems, which allowed certain units to show up to a 20% improvement over the required carbon emissions target. This was achieved with negligible additional cost and minimal impact on the project program.
HRS were commissioned to provide SBEM calculations and Energy Performance certification for an office development, which incorporated a bivalent heating system to assist with Part L compliance. Modelling allowed the client to substantiate that the air source heat pump assigned had been correctly specified for the building to meet its required TER.
HRS were asked to produce Energy Performance Certification for a refurbished existing health care building in London. A site audit was carried out by HRS to establish actual built construction type and dimensions, installed building services and occupancy for each zone within the project. An Energy Performance Certificate was successfully produced and lodged within one week of visiting site.
HRS were asked to carry out SAP and EPC accreditation for a 195 apartment development. Data was gathered and collated from the client’s central online system. SAP ratings and Energy Performance Certification was produced within two weeks, with minimal input required from the client.
