Inspection Testing Work

HRS have both the qualified and experienced staff to offer inspection, testing and surveys on a wide range of structures and materials.

A priority for HRS staff is to ensure that prior to starting works, we discuss with the client exactly why the works are being carried out and what information is required in what format. Hopefully, the final report is then not only accurate but concise and useful for whatever the client is going to use it for.

Our main objective in setting up teams for contracts, is that they have both the formal qualifications/training allied with previous contract experience. Site staff and teams are trained to liase with each other throughout the contract, so that data is collected accurately and consistently.

Reports are built up in digital format, enabling the client to review and edit draft copies and ultimately cut and paste the final report into whatever format they require.

Structures worked on have included chimneys, tower/office blocks, shafts, masts, bridges, boats, piers, cliffs, tunnels, silos, pipelines, etc.

The services offered include;

  • Building surveys - condition or baseline surveys, fault identification (eg cause of damp)
  • Brickwork testing - permeability, compression strength, mortar composition
  • Wall tie investigation - type, density, effectiveness, projected life span
  • Concrete and mortar sampling and testing to NAMAS standards - mix, ASR, chloride, cement content
  • Paint and condition monitoring
  • Steel, aluminium and cast iron testing including section loss
  • Dimensional surveys including line, level and verticality checks
  • Pre-contract surveying and dimensional work including for over cladding works and for sites at risk of settlement.
  • Bolt and anchor testing - safety eye bolts, rock bolts, panel fixings, etc
  • Various NDT works

All works are carried out to the relevant BS or EN and all HRS works are covered by our registration to ISO 9001:2008 and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
