Chris Whitehead has today been confirmed as the new Managing Director of Stroma Tech and HRS Services. This follows the announcement of the acquisition of HRS Services by the Stroma Group. Chris will lead both companies as well as overseeing a longer term integration programme to create a stronger single brand and company.
We are very pleased to have Chris leading our building compliance and inspection & maintenance divisions through an expected period of major growth and expansion. Chris has a long established track record working across the construction industry both for and with major contractors. This includes:
- 6 years with Arup as a Structural Design Engineer
- 13 years with Mowlem (now Carillion) as a Project Manager
- 16 years with Balfour Beatty (including 4 years on the Balfour Beatty Investments board; 3 years on the Balfour Beatty Construction board; and 2 years as Group Head of Sustainability)
Chris joined HRS Services two years ago and he brings a significant amount of experience and expertise to the Stroma Group. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders.

As two of the market leaders in building environmental sustainability, Stroma Tech and HRS now have a multi-skilled and expert team of consultants and testers for services such as air tightness, acoustics, SAP and BREEAM. Stroma Tech brings specific expertise in Health & Safety consultancy, Energy Statements and MEES; whilst HRS Services can offer Ecology Assessments, Noise, Vibration and Dust Assessments and Inspection & Maintenance services for infrastructure projects.
