Acoustic Design – University of Derby

Acoustic Design to meet BREEAM HEA05 credits.
The building was designed to meet the reverberation time criteria outlined in BREEAM HEA05 credits and Employer’s Requirements. The challenge was to control reverberation within large volume sports spaces requiring predominantly acoustically reflective surface finishes and exposed concrete soffits for thermal comfort. 3D acoustic modelling was used to provide reverberation control strategies to meet the targets through the use of impact rated acoustic wall panelling and suspended acoustic rafts.
